Off-Grid Cooling, Engineered for Comfort
Heavy-duty 12V cooling systems tailored for solar-powered caravans, camping trailers, and rooftop tents. Engineered to deliver comfortable cooling across dry conditions as well as typical higher humidity in inland and Atlantic coastal regions, they operate silently, consume minimal battery power, and provide reliable relief where conventional aircons fail.

Engineered Airflow
Our systems do not recirculate trapped, stale cabin air. By constantly pulling in fresh environmental air and utilising natural evaporation, it creates a continuous cycle that replaces old heat with fresh, moving air.
Draws in Hot, Dry Air
Hot, dry outside air is pulled directly into the cooling unit. Unlike traditional setups that trap or recycle stagnant, hot cabin air, this system pulls fresh air straight from the environment.
Natural Evaporation
The incoming air passes through a water-saturated cooling pad. As the water evaporates, heat is absorbed from the air, and the temperature drops naturally without compressors, gases, or heavy power draw.
Cool Air Delivery
The cooled air is gently pushed into the caravan interior. The result is noticeably cooler, fresh air.
Continuous Airflow Displacement
As cool air enters, warm air exits through ventilation. Air keeps moving, nothing is recycled, and the hotter and drier the climate, the better it performs.
Evaporative Cooling Scaled to Your Footprint
No two camping setups are identical, which is why a one-size-fits-all approach fails. CoolCamper systems offer four distinct configurations engineered to match the unique layout, space constraints, and volume demands of your caravan, camping trailer, or rooftop tent. Because performance relies on precise installation and adequate ventilation, selecting the correct model and securing proper fitment ensures the system delivers continuous, high-volume airflow tailored exactly to your configuration.

Rietbok Cooling System
A match for all sizes of caravans, with options for external mounting as well as installations inside the caravan living area. Also suitable for tents.

waterbok Cooling System
Size options for most applications. Especially suitable for installations requiring reduced depth, such as on the front or rear exterior of the caravan, or inside the nosecone.

Bosbok Cooling System
One-size cooler with top or rear discharge. Best suited for trailers with rooftop tents, nosecone mounting, or space with restricted height.

olifant Cooling System
A large, one-size cooler specially designed for sloped rear-end installations, such as on Conqueror Commander caravans.
Supported Installation from Start to Finish
A high-performance cooling system requires precise placement and correct ventilation routing to operate effectively. Because there is no one-size-fits-all layout, CoolCamper installations require tailored installation specifications for the application. Installations do not require special tools, but experience in general fitment is needed.
We recommend fitment centres or provide specifications for user-nominated fitment centres or DIY installations. We maintain close relationships with a network of trusted caravan specialists who can seamlessly manage the fitment process for you.
Every system we ship includes comprehensive, model-specific guidance for component placement and electrical integration, ensuring long-term reliability and complete confidence for your next off-grid adventure.

The Reality of Off-Grid Cooling
Choosing the right cooling setup comes down to understanding your power constraints and travel style. While traditional 220V air conditioners offer powerful cooling, they depend heavily on campsite mains power or noisy generators that ruin the outdoor experience. CoolCamper 12V systems are engineered specifically to run directly from your existing solar and battery setup, allowing you to camp anywhere while preserving your caravan's legal towing weight and keeping air fresh.
What CoolCamper Owners Say
Don't just take our word for it. See how our cooling systems are helping outdoor enthusiasts keep their caravans and camping trailers comfortable across the hot, dry tracks of South Africa and beyond.
